Happy New Year & Full Moon Blessings

31. December 2017

Illustration of cancer zodiac sign as a beautiful girl.

The story that the moon tells is of birth, growth, fullness, decay, disappearance, with rebirth and growth again.
– Demetra Georg

Happy New Year, lovelies! The Sun is in earthy and stable Capricorn and opposing the ambitious Capricorn sun, we have 2018’s first Full Moon in domestic and loving Cancer.

And what a great way to start the year! Today’s Full Moon brings the perfect opportunity to once again let go of all your old stuff and your old self, so you can begin the new year with a new you!

Masculine Capricorn and feminine, nurturing Cancer in many ways represents the Yin & the Yang. The archetypal father and mother figure. The Capricorn sun is strong, solid and disciplined. The Cancer Moon is soft, fluid and adaptable. And with the Moon in a sensitive water sign such as Cancer, this years first Full Moon can be emotional for many, bringing old wounds, fears and vulnerabilities to the surface. In combination with love goddess Venus opposing this rather emotional Cancer Moon, home, family and love relationships are brought to the spotlight. These opposing forces  will for many feel like a time of inner struggle, with feelings such as sadness, confusion, anger, fear, guilt and shame, all pushing their way to the surface, forcing a New Year’s transformation whether you like it or not.

The end of the year is always a time of death and rebirth, and as we step away from 2017 and wake to the first day of 2018 we are called to embrace our inner power, and let ourselves surrender and release everything and everything we have outgrown. Don’t beat yourself up if you’re feeling overly emotional around this time; it is simply the energies surrounding this Full Moon that heighten your sensitivity, aiding you in the process of letting go of that which no longer serves you. In order to create a revolution, darkness has to rise to the surface and pain and sadness has to be released to be healed. And remember this: that when you’re close to have a breakdown – when it feels like everything is lost and you’re floating around in your groundlessness with nothing to hold on to – that all breakdowns are really breakthroughs, and what we all need to be able to expand, grow and evolve our heart and soul.

Write down everything that comes up for you around this time and create a releasing fire ceremony. It doesn’t have to be big. A candle and a small bowl to burn what you have written down will do. But Fire ceremonies, even small ones, holds tremendous power. Ceremonies are the language of the soul, and the fire is purifying, helping you to step into the new year with a clean slate and a pure heart.

Then take some time to sit in silence and just breathe, connecting with your inner guide. Remind yourself that when everything seems to be falling apart, it’s often falling into place, and that when things are lost in your life, it is simply to make space for better things to enter. Be gentle with yourself through the process, and give yourself time to rest and restore, gently reminding yourself that this is a transition phase. Whatever emotions floats to the surface, your heart already holds the wisdom you need to guide you safely to the shore. Trust that.

This is the first day of the New year. And the first day of the rest of your life. Be patient. Remember that you are never meant to see the whole path; just to trust the next step. Let your intention this year be to fearlessly walk the path of your heart, knowing that if you are brave enough to surrender and let go of the need for control, the Universe will reward you with synchronicities and magic.  What is meant for you will always, always find you.

Sending you much love and light for the Full Moon and the New Year!

The Magic of Winter Solstice

20. December 2017

Depositphotos_177572110_l-2015

Tomorrow, December 21st, the sun moves in to the astrological sign of Capricorn and we have winter solstice here in the northern hemisphere.

The winter solstice carries deep meaning in all earth based spirituality. It is a celebration of the return of the light, but, at the same time, the darkness around the winter solstice naturally brings an energy of stillness and introspection, urging us to turn inward away from the world. The winter solstice holds the tension of both life and death, and is associated with rebirth; the dying old the old and the making way for the new. With 2017 being a year of beginnings, we have all been reborn in some way, making the winter solstice an important time to pause our busy life and honor and embrace where we are at this moment. In the quiet, we are more aware of our dreams and visions, and create a space for answers to come to us.

This year, the sun in Capricorn will be accompanied by the heavens strict teacher, Saturn, for the first time in (give or take) 30 years, emphasizing the energy of transitions and new beginnings that surrounds us at this time. Rigorous Saturn teaches us boundaries and responsibility and hand us the hard work and life lessons that helps us to attain a much deeper understanding of ourselves gives our soul a quantum leap of growth.

For all who have natal planets or important astrological points in Sagittarius, these past three years with the strict teacher transiting Sagittarius, some potent life lessons may have been given, and you may be happy to see Saturn leave for the next three decades. For all of you with important aspects in Capricorn; you’re up for a ride the next couple of years, hold on!

No matter where you find yourself at the longest night of the year, take this time to do some personal inventory. Knowing our true self makes the ride some much smoother. What in you, is dying? What in you, is being born? Change only hurt when we fight it, so breathe in the courage to step forward in your life with curiosity and an open heart, rather than resistance. Surrender the past, let go of all that no longer serves, and embrace the current season of your life.

Happy Solstice!

New Moon in Sagittarius

17. December 2017

Depositphotos_37588215_l-2015

Happy New Moon in Sagittarius! This Monday, December 18th,  2017’s last New Moon falls in the sign of the playful Archer, bringing with it seeds for optimism and joy.  As always, the New Moon symbolize the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new one, making New Moons an excellent time to plant your seeds for the future, and with today’s expansive New Moon, all possibilities are on the table. Fiery Sagittarius is a sign that burns bright with an unquenchable thirst for life, and as 2017 is coming to an end, the Archer is encouraging you to aim you arrow high, encouraging you to reach for your star.

It is, however, impossible to move forward as long as you keep living in the past. It’s time to let go of your old stories and everything that doesn’t serve you anymore, once and for all. What have you outgrown? What does not serve you anymore? Learn to forgive, surrender and let go, knowing that until you do, you will continue to relive your old patterns, making your painful past become part of our present and future. Shed your past like the serpent sheds its skin: all at once, and let go of everything that is stopping you from moving forward in the new year. Trust that it is your time to shine and the only one standing in your way is you!

Sagittarius is ruled by one of the heavens beneficiaries, lucky Jupiter, so if you feel like dreaming big, it’s the season. Grab the cord of glittering energy the cosmos presents you at this time and know that nothing is impossible if you’ve got enough nerve. One of the most admirable qualities of the fire signs is their fearless way of living life from their heart. They passionately follow their intuition, and simply go where their heart leads them. So, if you are usually the more hesitant or pragmatic type; draw in the positive energy of this New Moon, and let the passion of the fire help you to connect with your more open and adventurous side. Learn to seek joy and the meaning of the moment. Breathe in the optimism, embrace your potential, and aim for the moon!

Sagittarius is a visionary sign, so why not create a vision board and get creative. You’ve got this one life; how do you want to spend it? Dive in deep and get to know yourself. What are your dreams? What are you passionate about? Trust your instincts, then go out and make your life as bright and colorful as you can! There will always be those who prefer to live life differently than you, but if you listen to your heart and follow its path, you cannot go wrong. Your life is a blank canvas; make it your masterpiece. Place your energy where your soul can expand and grow, and quit everything that dims your inner fire.

Be careful not to overextend yourself though. Fiery Sagittarius can get a bit carried away at times, but introspection is also a requirement for this otherwise playful sign. Life cannot be adrenaline and adventure all the time; your soul requires some stillness too. Besides, Sagittarius is as committed to the journey inward as the one without. Our life is a sacred journey that we all must learn to interpret for ourselves, and considered to be the keeper of life philosophies, the Archer takes every chance it gets to dive into the Great Cosmic Quest.

Last but not least, make some space in your calendar for some self-love under this December Moon. This is the darkest time of the year in the northern hemisphere, and the new moon the darkest time of the month. Long nights encourage introspection, even during a busy holiday season. Run a hot bath, let yourself soften and get the winter chills out of your body. Take a couple of deep belly breaths, followed by a 5-minute meditation. Then, with a clearer head, pour yourself some nice hot tea and take time to journal it all out. Forgive, surrender and let go. This is a time for new beginnings. A new year. A new you. Remind yourself of how far you have come and congratulate yourself on your accomplishments. Set an intention to listen to your heart and to follow your truth. To never lose your curiosity and sense of wonder. To never stop learning. To make gratitude a daily practice and to pay attention to the little everyday joys. And, to always schedule time to show your love for those people that makes life worthwhile. They are what life is all about after all ♡

Super Moon in Gemini

2. December 2017

Illustration of gemini zodiac sign as a beautiful girl.

On December 3rd/4th (depending on where you are in the world) the Full Moon  in airy, chatty Gemini ♊ will oppose the #sun in fiery, playful Sagittarius ♐ and we’ll have 2017’s last full super-moon. With a Full Moon in #Gemini – ruled by messenger #Mercury – the Universe now demands clear communication, so let things out and express yourself and your truths openly. Don’t hold back. Trust that this is a time to let the world know how you feel. Stay true to yourself and communicate your heart, then notice how telling the heartfelt truth makes your soul expand♡
December’s Full Moon is often referred to as the Long Nights Moon, due to the long, dark nights at this time of the year. And with some challenging aspects coming up around the time of the Full Moon, this Moon may indeed come across as the dark night of the soul…

With Sun + Moon squaring (hard aspect!) Neptune in Pisces emotional sensitivity is on an all time high, meaning you are more likely to get hurt around this time. Neptune tends to make things less clear, which may leave you feeling both lost and confused, and with Mercury, known as the God of communication, turning retrograde only hours before the peak of the Full Moon, wanting to tell the truth or not, clear communication of your feelings may seem close to impossible at this time. Chances are that you will misinterpret information and/or not perceive things correctly, and the chances of misunderstandings are high.

Not to mention Mercury will remain retrograde for the whole two weeks of this moon phase, making the coming weeks a time to slow down rather than bursting forward. Even though December’s Full Moon may be an extremely powerful Super Moon, the presence of Mercury retrograde slow things down considerably. This may make you feel a bit stuck and stagnant, and like you’re getting nowhere, but see if you can allow this slower energy to work for you, instead of against you. It may be the holiday season, but the Full Moon/Retrograde period is always a time (and opportunity) for stillness and reflection: See if you can find space in your schedule to light some frankincense, journal, meditate, do yoga, and pay some extra attention to your throat chakra – the chakra of communication.

The last Full Moon of 2017 is also a time to stop and do some inventory. How has this year been for you? 2017 has been a year of new beginnings, and this Full Moon is the final dot to that energy. And however wonderful new beginnings may have sounded in our ears at the beginning of the year, the truth is that new beginnings requires and ending – a little death so to speak – which may have made 2017 a challenging year for many of us. The process between the old and the new may have resulted in huge life changes, but the time has come to congratulate yourself. You’ve made it! The energy of 2017 is slowly fading, making room for the year to come.  The supermoon in Gemini is an opportunity to celebrate just how far you have come. And even though your new beginnings may not have been what you wanted, trust that it was what you needed. Have faith in the bigger picture. Trust that you always get the lessons you need for you to learn and grow. Remember that your life is a sacred journey, and that
all we can do is to live the best we can with the opportunities we get. So whatever arises for you around this time, remember that things always arise for you to be healed. You need to feel it to heal it as they say ♡ The time of the Full Moon is great for releasing, so take this time as an opportunity to get closure and to let go of what no longer serves you once and for all, then open up your heart for a new chapter to begin. Trust that you alone hold the keys to your happiness.
Happy Full Moon lovelies!
