Full Moon in Sagittarius

28. May 2018

Illustration of astrological sign of Sagittarius. Beautiful fantasy girl.

With the sun transiting airy Gemini, Tuesday’s lovely full moon will be in the twins opposing sign; fiery Sagittarius. Starting to shift our focus from earthy Taurus’ basic survival needs and the primal energy of last month’s rather intense Scorpio moon, this month will bring some much-needed lightheartedness and a spark of renewed energy and purpose.

Ruled by messenger Mercury, Gemini brings life to our ideas and thoughts, and teaming up with firestarter Sagittarius, there should be nothing stopping us from getting our ideas out there. Sagittarius is all about expanding our horizon, and the generous archer loves to give advice and share experiences, always encouraging us to better understand and broaden our perception of the world. Communication, attitude, and our sense of adventure will all be strongly connected to this full moon, and with Sagittarius being ruled by one of the heavens beneficiaries, expansive and lucky Jupiter, fullness and completion are on the table.

No matter how easygoing the energies may be though, it is important to remember that a full moon is always Sun opposing Moon, highlighting opposing forces in our life. Polarities are rarely easy, and, thus, the time of the full moon will always bring the challenge of balancing the representing opposing energies. And, even though both Gemini and Sagittarius are considered to be in the “lighter” end of the zodiac spectrum, there are still challenges to be found.

To fiery Sagittarius, the energy of airy Gemini can come across as a bit too indecisive and superficial. Gemini, only brushing the surface of topics, knows something about everything, while passionate and adventurous Sagittarius are on a quest for meaning and ideas that expand upon the “here and now”. Where Gemini is quite comfortable at home, spending time just contemplating different ideas without any immediate plans of action, bold and bright Sagittarius encourages us to venture far beyond our comfort zone, and preferably took the leap yesterday.

As such, many may consider Sagittarius a bit too reckless or lighthearted, but it is important to remember that the archer – always in search of individual meaning and spiritual growth – is also wise and expansive. Sagittarius’ happy-go-lucky energy simply comes from its unwavering faith in the Universe and trusting that it will all work out as it’s meant to. Like the first card of the Tarot deck, The Fool, Sagittarius is comfortable stepping out into the unknown, and more easily than others find the courage to take that first leap of faith that is so crucial for getting started on our soul’s journey. There is a balance to everything, though. Not being able to walk your talk is no good, but neither is action without thought, so be cautious to find equilibrium between thoughts and action at this time. That being said, life is an adventure, so whatever you do, don’t stagnate! YOLO and all that, right?

With love planet Venus in a nurturing meeting with domesticated and family oriented Cancer, there is no reason not to make the love of this moon a lasting one. Maybe the time has come to expand the family, move in- or buy a home together? Be sure you don’t get too possessive, though. Holding on to someone we love out of jealousy and fear is never right. As we all know, love works best when it can flow freely, but with Sagittarius’ ruler, Jupiter in retrograde and transiting intense Scorpio as we speak, there is a chance these darker traits could overwhelm you under this full moon. However, Jupiter rules experiential learning, so retrograde or not, use whatever comes up for you around this full moon as a spring board to self-development. As you step up to your highest potential, you may suddenly find that those pieces of your life that has been on hold for a while, now magically falls into place, bringing with it a sense of newfound peace.

As always under the full moon, create some space for you to step back and take some deep breaths in stillness and contemplation. Let go of the everyday drama for a while and connect with your heart and true essence. Where have your life brought you this far? What have you learned? What do you know to be true for you? Take a moment to jot it all down and reflect on what you have learnt and how far you have come. It may not be where you thought you would be at this point, but that doesn’t mean where you are is not where you are supposed to be. We are always guided. We are always on the path. So rather than being frustrated that you are not there yet, let go of the reins and be curious as to where life will be taking you. Never doubt that there is a plan. Celebrate your triumphs and victories, laugh at your mistakes and be proud of how strong you have made yourself.

Embrace Jupiter’s larger than life energy for all it’s worth, an expand into all that you can be. Feel the excitement and joy of being a little reckless and ignore anyone who wants to dull your sparkle. This full moon is your opportunity to reach your greatest potential, stepping up to your soul’s path. Every now and then we must consider whether we are in the right place to facilitate the growth and expansion we need, and the truth is that sometimes we will have to go far beyond familiar ground to find a place called home. Harness the bold and joyous Sagittarius energy, and take a leap of faith. This is a time to let go of perfection, and be unapologetically who you really are, knowing that the moment you accept yourself fully, the world does too.

More than anything; do what makes you happy. Do what makes you healthy and strong. Do what make you feel alive! You are here to be the best version of you and to live your life to the fullest, everything else is secondary. Use the powerful manifesting energy of the full moon, visualize your dreams, and find the courage to just go for it!  Flow with your life, make decisions from your heart, and you cannot go wrong. Your destiny is unfolding. Get ready to be moon struck!

New Moon in Taurus

15. May 2018

Zodiac beautiful girls set (African American version). Taurus.

May 15th the sun and moon again conjunct, and we have a soft and feminine new moon in the earthy sign of Taurus.

However, soft and nurturing as a Taurus moon may be, her sweet energy better be ready to get ruffled by the entry of whirlwind Uranus into her sign on the day of the new moon. This is a major change for Taurus, as last time Uranus visited the bull was between 1934 and 1941, and let’s just say that sensual, domesticated Taurus not exactly thrives in the company of wild-card Uranus, the planet of shock and surprises, and who’s energy is all over the place at the best of times.

Still, new moons are times of reflection, and our monthly opportunity to reset our goals and intentions. Having stepped out of last month’s impatient and fiery Aries energy, Taurus beginnings are slow and solid. Where Aries might bring the quick transformation of a fire, Taurus brings the slow transformation that comes with watering and taking care of a tiny seed planted in the earth. It’s all about those goals and plans that you are willing to water and nurture over the long haul. Just remember to be extra mindful as you plant your intention on this new moon. With Uranus crashing our new moon party, his abrupt energy can easily be the cause of some sudden changes and upheaval that you did not see coming. And as we are basking in all that slow and steady Taurus energy at the moment, we might not be too comfortable with the earth erupting around the seed we just so carefully planted.

But revolutionary company or not, ruled by loved goddess Venus, a Taurus new moon is also a time to adore life’s simple pleasures. Run a flower bath, nourish your garden, smell the flowers, read in front of the fireplace, enjoy warm, soft fabrics, sweet kisses, savory meals, vintage wine…the list goes on. Taurus simply loves to indulge in the finer things in life, and there’s an ever-present longing to live in harmony and to be present with the beauty that surrounds her. Taurus also likes to take her sweet time and to her it is a necessity to schedule much needed time to rest and relax. She thrives best when she can move through life at ‘Taurus time’, giving herself time to build solid foundations, and feel grounded and connected to the earth; let the Taurus new moon be your opportunity to do the same.

On the more shadowy side, Taurus’ energy can easily drag us into a mentality of lack and fear, so embrace the bull’s energy with awareness. Too much of that rooted energy and you may get glued to that comfortable sofa, stuck in your own stubbornness, unable to leave your comfort zone if your life depended on it. Too little and you will mindlessly be numbing out unpleasant emotions by running around nonstop, distracting yourself from being present and over-indulging in life’s pleasures. Find the middle way! The main purpose of learning about the energies that surround us at all times, is after all so that we can adapt and draw on their strengths as well as be prepared for their weaknesses, and personally I definitely prefer to work with the energies, rather than try to avoid them or feel like I’m fighting a constant upstream battle. Thus, with challenges like erratic and impulsive Uranus’ entry into Taurus, we want to be prepared: Fixed earth sign Taurus is consistent, loyal and stable. Uranus is unpredictable, experimental and eruptive. That sounds like a miss-match in heaven if I ever saw one.  So, if you have your natal chart, you may want to have a look to see where you have Uranus and Taurus in your chart, as Uranus would love to bring some turbulence – or maybe a much-needed revolution?! – into those areas of your life.

Don’t be scared though. As long as you don’t refuse your guidance and your growth, life will flow in the direction of your soul’s purpose. What you can do is to practice awareness, and to start to get even better at scheduling those moments by yourself, taking time to breathe, ground and practice self-love. The Taurus new moon is also a good time to start embracing material simplicity and to take time to de-clutter and simplify your life. The less clutter, the less chances of things getting tossed around, right? Also, if you are one of those that has a bit too much of that Taurus’ sluggishness hindering you in taking chances and moving forward, Uranus entrance might actually give you exactly the push you need to get your but up and moving. And if we can manage to not cling to status quo, Uranus’ abrupt changes can definitely be a means to liberation, bringing in a breath of fresh air, and freeing us of old and outdated behaviors. Keep in mind though, that Uranus energy being so widely different from the Taurus energy can make it challenging to utilize the planets energy at the best of times, so work with it wisely.

Nevertheless, as the stillness of the new moon wraps itself around you, set aside time for that much needed me-time in true Taurus fashion. Slow down, do some neck stretches (Taurus rules the neck and throat chakra), soak in the flower bath and be patient and loving towards yourself. Close your eyes, take a couple of deep breaths and root down into the healing energies of Pachamama. Connect again with that sacred pool of stillness within yourself. Then listen. Don’t grasp. Don’t run. Simply be, and let the stillness bring the answers to you, as you let yourself align with that moment of truth.

Then, send out your new moon wishes, as you find the courage to let go and surrender your wishes with an open heart. Trusting the future and your process, you create space for the Universe to do her manifesting magic, knowing that the new moon will light the path ahead for you.

New Moon Blessings!
