Magic Is Something You Make

New Moon in Capricorn: Reach for Your Star!

11. January 2021

January 13th the Sun and Moon once again conjunct at their monthly meet-up, and we have the first new moon of 2021. As always new moons represent new beginnings, and with this new moon being the first new moon of 2021, the energy of new beginnings, is even more powerful than usual.

Moreover, with the sun and moon conjunct in the ambitious and determined sign of go-getter Capricorn this new moon is truly encouraging you to get your intentions clear and turn your focus to your long-term goals. To help you along, Capricorn’s ruler, Saturn, has moved out of this sturdy earth sign (where he has resided since the end of 2017) and into the visionary of the zodiac – airy and expansive Aquarius. If the Saturn + Aquarius energy had a slogan it would be “if you can dream it, you can do it!”- so let’s get started! Let these planetary aspects work in your favor. Draw on the energies you need and see if you can leave the rest. Embrace the ideas of visionary Aquarius in combination with the discipline and commitment of the wise sea-goat, Capricorn, and ground your highest dreams into the physical plane.

Make some solid plans, not air castles, and really dig into this powerful new moon energy. What does your heart long for? What does your soul need? Dream it. Visualize it. Climb the mountain and go for it! This is a time to think big, and to plant fertile seeds for your biggest visions to come into fruition. Remember to give it time though. Be patient. Rome was not built in one day.

If climbing your mountain seems impossible at this time, don’t despair. Trust the timing of your life – you will move when you are meant to.  If your life feels like a never-ending series of lessons, bringing you one step forward and three steps back, the darkness and introspective energies surrounding every new moon brings the perfect space to stop, pause and just breathe.

Do a bit of personal inventory. Look back. What do you see? What have you learned? With transformative Pluto conjunct the new moon, you will get the push needed to face your shadows, rip out the blockages that stops you from living your life once and for all. When the going gets tough, know that life is always trying to teach you something, and if patterns keep repeating themselves in your life, you have simply not learned your lesson – yet.

Whatever resides in your shadow, find the courage to face it, so you do not have to drag along this sluggish energy into 2021. Then give yourself permission to move on. No matter what hardships you are facing; do not let life make you hard. Soften the walls around your heart. Let your challenges make you stronger, wiser, and more loving towards yourself and others. After all, you are here for the story – the story of your heart and soul – not to impress anyone through false perfection. And remember, more often than not, it is just a change in perspective that is needed to create a positive shift, so start with your thoughts and the way you think about things.

Remind yourself that the best is yet to come and get ready to rise, shine and truly welcome in the new moon, this brand-new year and most of all the new you. The first two weeks after the new moon, is the best time for manifesting, so this is indeed a time for breakthroughs! Shake off your old fears and beliefs and do not be afraid to truly embrace that uniqueness that is you. And keep in mind that it does not matter if the people around you do not always understand your need for change or a new beginning. Do not belittle yourself for anyone. This is your life and your journey, and even though it through times of transformation and change will sometimes feel lonely, know that when you start to believe in yourself, become a leader in your own life, and start to embrace that uniqueness that is YOU, opportunities will start to blossom as the Universe delivers her magic to you! Brave hearts are always rewarded.

New Moon Blessings to All,

Happy Winter Solstice

21. December 2020

Today, Monday, December 21st the sun enters Capricorn as we are stepping into the longest night of the year. But not only does today mark the winter solstice, or Yule, as it is called in the pagan tradition, but this auspicious day also coincides with what astrologers call “the great conjunction” – a conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn, happening every twenty years. As such, this meet-up between structured Saturn and expansive Jupiter is a rare event in and of itself, as two decades passes between each time, however, todays conjunction is even more so, and here’s why. For two hundred years at a time, Saturn and Jupiter will conjunct in the signs of the same element, and for the past two hundred years Saturn and Jupiter has come together in earth signs. Today, however, for the first time in six hundred years or so, it happens in an air sign. At 0° Aquarius to be specific.

Air is a whole lot quicker than earth. Earth is associated with qualities such as patience, practicality, hard work, and stability. The element of Air on the other hand is connected to thoughts, communication, inspiration, imagination, ideas, knowledge, dreams and wishes. Earth is grounded and rooted. Earth likes status quo. Air moves. Air is quick, high flying and expansive. We are now stepping out of the box, letting go of old structures and believes, letting go of the strict, patriarchal energy of Capricorn, and are now stepping into the free-spirited, eccentric and futuristic energy of Aquarius.

Moving from earth to Air symbolizes the end of an era and a paradigm shift in society as a whole, and at 0° – 0° symbolizing new beginnings – it is the ultimate call to leave the old structures behind, and open the heart, mind and should for a new way of living. Together with the solstice, symbolizing the return of the light after the darkness, this is the day of new beginnings and new hope. May the the powerful  energies of this numinous day serve you well ♡.

Journaling exercises for the Solstice

The pandemic had brought with it more stillness and time for reflection for most of us, and as such, 2020 has been a year of tuning in. Of deep listening and re-connecting to all those needs we had buried for so long under all the clutter of our constantly busy lives. Here are a couple of journaling exercises as we enter the longest night of the year:

  • What is your heart whispering in the stillness of the dark? What do you need – to stay balanced, to feel happy – at this time?
  • What are your grateful for at this time?
  • What did you learn this year?
  • Reflecting upon what the past year has thought you, what are you bringing with you into the new year, and what stays behind?

Best Yuletide wishes for you and your loved ones ♡

New Moon + Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius

14. December 2020

It’s time to bring back the optimism! The Sun and Moon are conjunct in the sign of the fiery archer, symbolizing the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new one. As always, the New Moon is an excellent time to plant your seeds for the future, and with today’s bold and courageous New Moon and solar eclipse – the final eclipse of 2020(!) – at 23 degrees Sagittarius, magic, fun and play are on the table!

Sagittarius is a sign that burns bright with an unquenchable thirst for life. Her optimism is contagious as she encourages us to connect with our more playful, open and adventurous side, urging us to truly embrace the joy of the moment. With her bow and arrow, she encourages you to aim you arrow high, embrace your potential and shoot for the stars. Ruled by expansive and lucky Jupiter – currently transiting his home sign (woop!) – if you feel like dreaming big, it’s the season! Have faith that you can reach your goals, and trust that nothing is impossible if you’ve got enough nerve. Let go of anything or anyone that is a distraction and keep your eyes on the goal!

Sagittarius is a also a highly visionary sign, so why not get creative and create a vision board of your dream future? You’ve got this one life; how do you want to spend it? December’s new moon being a total solar eclipse as well, you have all the help of the cosmos to create the changes you wish for and propel your life forward into a much brighter future! Dive in deep, trust your instincts, then go out and make yourlife as bright and colorful as you can!

There will always be those who prefer to live life differently than you, but if you listen to your heart and follow its path, you cannot go wrong. Your life is a blank canvas; make it your masterpiece. Place your energy where you can expand and grow and quit everything that dims your inner fire. Never lose your curiosity and sense of wonder. Never stop learning. Be creative, be bold, be expansive and most of all be you.

However, be careful not to overextend yourself though. Fiery Sagittarius can get a bit carried away at times, so remember to do that occasional check in and take some time for a couple of deep belly breaths and self-love and. Sagittarius rules the hips, so why not give yourself the gift of some deep, juicy hip openers. Journal. Practice gratitude. Follow your truth. Remind yourself of your accomplishments, pay attention to the little everyday joys, and always schedule time to show your love for those people that makes life worthwhile. It’s what life is all about after all ♡

Full Moon + Lunar Eclipse in Airy Gemeni

30. November 2020

Today, November 30th (exact 10.34 AM Oslo time) the moon will oppose the sun in Sagittarius, and we have 2020’s full moon and lunar eclipse in airy, chatty Gemini.

The twins are known to be social, lighthearted butterflies and opposing the energy of adventurous, happy-go-lucky, Sagittarius, the full moon in Gemini is often one to lighten the mood in an otherwise dark season.

But even though Gemini and Sagittarius are known for their light energy, eclipses do unfortunately not go so easy on us. Eclipses like to get down and dirty. They illuminate the dustiest corners of our life, and make sure all the dust bunnies are cleared and swept away. They shine a light on all that no longer needs to be present with us and forces us to take a close look at destructive patterns we may be holding. Lunar eclipses are so very potent for exactly that reason – they require us to shed. And even though this sudden and abrupt shedding can leave us feeling vulnerable, afraid, or uncertain of what is to come, this lunar eclipse also holds the promise of a brighter season coming.

Still, the current overload of airy, Gemini energy may make you feel scattered, restless, and mentally overstimulated, causing you to spend a lot of time up in your head, overthinking.  But see if you can allow this potent eclipse energy to work for you, rather than against you. Being an air sign ruled by messenger Mercury, Gemini knows how to express herself eloquently, and the full moon in Gemini is the perfect backdrop for you to share your honest thoughts with the world. And even though it can be challenging at times, expressing your heartfelt truth will leave you feeling a lot more grounded and at peace than trying to keep up with those little white lies told to protect yourself. The truth may make you feel vulnerable, but if you can stay true to yourself and communicate your heart, you will soon notice how telling the heartfelt truth makes your soul expand ♡.

The time between two eclipses are also a great time for stillness and reflection, so use the two upcoming weeks wisely. Light some incense, take deep breaths, meditate, do yoga, and pay some extra attention to your inner world. As we are beginning to wrap up 2020, this is a great time to stop and reflect. Bring out your journal and ask yourself where you are holding on too tightly, and where you need to surrender and let go. And remember that if something falls away from your life at this time, it is meant to leave. Whatever comes to pass, try and hold a feeling of trust in your heart.

2020 has been a weird, challenging, year for us all and this full moon and lunar eclipse is in many ways the final dot to that energy. Change is hard for the best of us, and I think we all agree that the changes of 2020 has felt very overwhelming at times to say the least. On a more positive note it has helped us all to step out of our busy bubble and forced us to practice sitting with what is. It has given us the opportunity to slow down, just breathe and just be. But whatever has happened these past 11 months, big or small, congratulate yourself! You have soon made it through another year, and fingers crossed it will only get better from here!

And even though 2020 may not have been what you wanted, trust that it brought you what you needed. This year we have had no less than 7 eclipses, which is exceedingly rare – but I think we can all agree that 2020 has not been our average year. And eclipses symbolizing abrupt change and ending, it fits right in with this turbulent year.

Thus, see if you can have faith in the bigger picture. Trust that you always get the lessons you need for you to learn and grow. Remember that your life is a sacred journey, and that all we can do at all times is to live the best we can with the opportunities we get.

So, whatever comes up for you around this time, remember that things always arise for you to be healed. You need to feel it to heal it as they say ♡ Then open your heart for a new chapter to begin. As the energy of 2020 is slowly fading, accept, surrender, release and move on.  It is time to make room for the year to come, and trust that you alone hold the keys to your happiness.

Happy full moon in Gemini lovelies!

xx

Dark + Deep: New Moon in Scorpio!

13. November 2020

Perhaps the butterfly is proof that you can go through a great deal of darkness, and yet become something beautiful.
– Beau Taplin

New Moon in Scorpio

As the sun + moon embrace in the deep, dark waters of Scorpio early Sunday morning, November 15th (06.06 AM Oslo time), it is time for our annual deep dive into the emotional new moon energies of this passionate water sign.

The moon is, as always, all about our inner world: How we feel and what we need at the very core of our being, and the Scorpio new moon even more so. Scorpio throws us into a pool of vulnerability, she revels in mystery and magic, and with her highly introspective qualities she wants to take us on an intimate date with our own shadow Self.

After the more stable and grounded Taurus full moon two weeks back, the Scorpio new moon may feel strangely emotional and fluid to you, but do not let the intensity of this new moon scare you. Still water runs deep as they say, and Scorpio is here to help you connect to the deeper, darker, and more intuitive waters of your own psyche.

The seductress of the zodiac is all about deep soul searching and reaching the deeper levels of consciousness. This means that whatever comes up for you around this time is not likely to be superficial. In fact, Scorpio does not do easy breezy at all – Scorpio does deep, dark, and intense. Scorpio wants to devour you, so get ready to get real intimate with yourself and peel back all the layers of your soul.

Depending on your current level of self-intimacy you may find entering on a date with this part of your Self quite overwhelming and challenging. It is in this depth of our Selves we house our deepest fears and longings – the ones we haven’t even told ourselves – and naturally many of us have our focus on suppressing, rather than befriending this part of ourselves. Doing this type of work is challenging at the best, and it takes both time and effort, and let’s be honest, most of us have our hands full keeping our head above water, managing life’s everyday stresses while doing our best to keep up with the standards and expectations put onto us by the society surrounding us.

This constant suppression to avoid unpleasant feelings (such as shame, guilt and suffering) will, however, in turn result in a lot of time and energy spent pushing down emotions and unwanted feelings, leaving you feeling completely depleted, and usually without any clue as to why you feel so exhausted and drained. You just know that you do not feel well.

Because the truth is that by blocking out you are also blocking light and good energy from entering inn. And besides the fact that blocking and controlling emotions takes a lot of energy, you are also hindering yourself from entering that well of inspiration and creativity, the place where you can find your true passion. In other words, you need to face your demons to get to your light, and sad but true, there are no shortcuts.

So, see if you can use this Scorpio new moon to find the courage to go deep. Deeper than your problems and fears, and all the way into the very innermost part of your soul. A Scorpio moon never was and never will be about a quick fix, but it is the perfect moon to start. To sit quietly and listen to your heart and soul. To create an intimate relationship with yourself

Remember that our journey cannot start until we take the first step on the path towards where we want to go.

So, if you have been waiting for a sign; this is it. The darkness of this new moon is for you and you only. To breathe, to pause and to reconnect with who you are. It is for you to celebrate your uniqueness, and for you to begin to love and accept yourself in your beautiful imperfection.

Do not be afraid to look inside, and do not forget to be patient with yourself as you explore. The womb of Scorpio is an excellent place to restore and heal and to learn to gently let go of that which is no longer meant for you. The rawness in Scorpio’s energy is here to teach you how to better sit with, and understand, pain and grief, and to accept loss and what is gone.

And, overwhelming as it may feel as your inner process ebbs and flows, trust that after the energy of this full moon softens, you will have more clarity and feel a greater sense of understanding of the path ahead.

So, for now; just breathe, let go, and see if you can surrender to the healing powers of this magical Scorpio moon.

It is time to create that home in your heart that is just for you.

It is time to express your truth.

Happy new moon, lovelies!
