Yoga for Libra Season

 Libra – Balance

When the sun is in Libra, the moon will be in the opposite sign – Aries. It is therefor beneficial both to focus on your lower back, buttocks and kidneys (Libra) and your head (Aries)

    • Libra is all about balance so combining a forward-bend with a balancing pose is perfect for Libra season!

 

Breath Work & Meditation

Libra’s natural element is Air, so focusing on breath work is perfect during Libra season. Inhale peace and exhale harmony.

As the sun enters Libra at the Equinox (the moment of equal hours of night and day) and Libra’s symbol is the scales, balance is important for Libra. Find a comfortable seat, tuning your focus in, connecting with your breath. making the inhale and exhale of equal length. If you wish you can count to four on the inhale and four on the exhale. To further ass to the balancing aspect, add samasti mudra by holding your pinkie + ring finger down with your thumb and extending the index and middle finger – just like a peace sign.

Samasti Mudra encourages both hemispheres of the brain to communicate more effectively, so you can express (libra, air) yourself more fully as well as think intuitively.

Wellness Tip

Libra LOVES beauty. So buy flowers for your home, make sure you present your nourishing food beautifully, and treat yourself to a massage or two this month. Or maybe a fresh hair cut. Be sure to pamper yourself!

Libra being an air sign, communication is important to Libras. They are communicative. So maybe this is the time to start a journaling practice, clearly express your needs to others or simply tell the people around you how much you love and care for them. Be kind to yourself and others, and be generous with your words. See if you can fully embrace the needs of yourself as well as others.  . And create a safe space where you can allow yourself to feel secure enough to simply be yourself. Accept all of you as well as all of others. Stand up for who you are, and stand up for the rights of others to be themselves too. Balance and equality is the key.
