Taurus – Abundance
When the sun is in Taurus, the moon will be in the opposite sign – Scorpio. It is therefor beneficial both to focus on your neck (Taurus) and your pelvis (Scorpio)
Focus on your neck and throat chakra
Easy Pose/Sukhasana w/ head roll and neck stretches
Make it flow between cat and cow, connecting movement and breath. Deep breath in as you drop your belly and come in to cow, and long breath out as you push the floor away from you and come in to cat.
Camel Pose/Ustrasana – dropping your head back (Taurus) and pushing your hips forward (Scorpio)
Your favorite mantras and kirtan to stimulate the throat chakra.
Breath Work & Meditation
Taurus natural element is Earth so Taurus season is all about grounding. Sitting in Sukhasana – easy pose – start with some gentle head rolls, stretching your neck, left and right, then make sure you are settled in a comfortable seated position. Keep your spine, roll your shoulders back and down, and gently push your shoulder blades together, lifting your heart up and forward. Feel the heaviness in your hips and pelvis, imagining roots stretching from the tip of your tailbone, rooting you deep down into the earth. Simultaneously reach the crown of your head up towards the sky or ceiling above you helping you keep your spine long and straight.
Taurus, being connected to the love goddess, Venus, is all about the senses, so while sitting hee, see if you can really feel your body. Feel the heaviness in your pelvis, feel the heart opening and expanding. What other sensations are you feeling, what does the air smell like around you? What can you hear, first close to you, then further away. Try to just sit with everything just as it is and truly embrace this present moment with all your senses.
Sensual Taurus deserves to get spoiled. Treat yourself to a beautiful scarf, maybe in a soft, natural fabric – the type that Taurus adores – and wrap up your beautiful neck in this luxurious piece of clothing. Perfect for spring season when it’s so easy to catch a cold.
Honey – the nectar of the Gods – is another of Taurus’ favorites. What about a chai tea, sweetened with honey to warm your throat. Or a fruit salad – fruit is great for Taurus season – with nuts and honey on top.
Be as creative as you like, take yourself on dates, dive into your own sensuality and embrace the world with all your senses.
